Glebe Barn and Cottage is a working family farm in the peaceful countryside of Northern Ireland's Causeway Coast and Glens, with two self-catering properties to stay in. Both have been thoughtfully renovated to keep their original rustic character while offering every modern comfort, and both are ready to welcome guests.

Whichever you choose, you are 9 miles from Derry, 20 minutes from the coast, and surrounded by open countryside with nothing much to hear at night.

Where You'll Stay

• Foyle View Glebe Barn, sleeps 2

  A first-floor loft above the old stone barn, looking out over Lough Foyle, with open-plan living, a fully equipped kitchenette, a double bedroom and a modern shower room. Reached by an external stone stair. From £99 per night. See the Barn.

• Lizzy's Cottage, sleeps 6

  A traditional Irish cottage in the grounds, with three double bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room with an open fire, and a garden and sun terrace of its own looking over Lough Foyle. From £175 per night. See Lizzy's Cottage.

• We stayed in Glebe Barn for a couple of nights as we celebrated our first wedding anniversary. It’s a beautifully refurbished, cosy, warm and quiet, open plan space, with a lovely view out across the water. Just half an hour drive to Mussenden Temple, it was also easy to get the ferry from Magilligan Point over to Greencastle, Co Donegal. Lots of places to eat in Derry, again just half an hour’s drive back to Glebe Barn.

We're a small family living on the farm, where the barn and the cottage have both stood for generations. Restoring them took a while, and at every point we asked whether it was somewhere we would want to stay ourselves: genuine, comfortable, unhurried. We live on site, so we're always nearby if you need anything, but we'll give you your space to relax and unwind. We hope you love it here as much as we do.
